Recently, I have discovered a new lease of life in making things. When I was a child I was very creative, and in my teenage years I became a little bit boring and thought humanities could save me... then I realised that I needed to start being messy again or I would be pretty miserable. There's the testimonial, here's the blog to demonstrate some of my crazy projects!
Today I'm off to a Doctor Who themed Midnight Tea Party and I'm going as Madame de Pompadour/member of her court/random Georgian woman. It's an excuse to dress up in lace and tenuously link it to science-fiction, basically! My outfit has taken me ages to prepare and I've made several bits to go with it. I'm fairly pleased with the result!

I made the gloves just by sewing a piece of lace on the machine and then popping in a thumb hole -- it literally takes a couple of minutes -- and the collar is just lace tied round my neck.
I got the inspiration for the makeup and hair from Horrible Histories: The Gorgeous Georgians!
I've also been busy making brooches for my friends:

Faerie wings:

And corsets!:
